Genesee Country Village & Museum

The Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation renewed its commitment to the Genesee Country Village & Museum’s Rochester City School District educational program and the renovation of the Thomson Barn for classroom space.

The Thomson Barn was converted to classroom space while maintaining its general appearance as an 1806 building on the historic landscape. This all weather classroom for forty students includes a bathroom facility.

We are pleased to be a partner in this project with the museum.

Seneca Park Zoo Society

The Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation renewed its commitment to the Seneca Park Zoo Society's Butterfly Beltway Project. In its fourth year, this program strives to raise awareness and participation in the conservation of butterfly habitats in western New York. Our picture shows Zoo Conversation Education Coordinator Ryan Loysen explaining the migration of the monarch butterfly to a very interested group of seniors.

North East Development Inc.
The Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation renewed its commitment to the restoration of the Wehle Landmark Building in Sector 8. This three-story building is the centerpiece of the Beechwood neighborhood. The restoration of this building has been the “spark plug” for many other restorations and new construction of single-family homes.

The whole neighborhood has a feeling of renewed spirit with a positive outlook on the future. This transformation of the neighborhood was made possible by many funders and is certainly an example of what a collaboration of funders can do.
